Capri-Napoli 2025: 2nd open competition - 20th June

---ITA: Dopo il debutto a Torre del Greco, le prove open della Capri-Napoli 2025 tornano nel loro scenario naturale. Venerdì 20 giugno è infatti prevista la seconda delle quattro gare che precedono la competizione ufficiale, quest’anno in programma sabato 6 settembre.
Numeri importanti anche per questa competizione: sono infatti 35 i nuotatori iscritti (29 uomini e sei donne), in rappresentanza di sette nazioni e quattro continenti: oltre a quelli provenienti da ogni parte d’Italia, saranno al via nuotatori di Argentina, Australia, India, Romania, Spagna e Turchia, suddivisi tra Solo (nove in tutto) e staffette (cinque i team che si sfideranno lungo i 36 chilometri). Partenza alle 9 dalla zona di Marina Grande a Capri, arrivo nelle acque antistanti il Circolo Canottieri al Molosiglio, grazie al confermato sostegno del presidente Giancarlo Bracale. Tra le curiosità della prova di venerdì, da segnalare la presenza dell’argentino Claudio Plit, vincitore quattro volte nelle acque del Golfo di Napoli, atleta che fino a tre anni fa deteneva il record di presenze (ben quindici) alla competizione ufficiale, primato poi ceduto al connazionale Damian Blaum. Plit dal canto suo, contando anche le prove non ufficiali, è colui il quale vanta il maggior numero di presenze alla Capri-Napoli: ben 22, collezionate in sei differenti decadi (dagli anni ‘70 ai giorni nostri).
Soddisfatto l’organizzatore Luciano Cotena della Società Eventualmente eventi & comunicazione: “Le competizioni open – afferma – crescono sempre più in termini di interesse e presenze. E il fatto che tanti campioni del passato, capaci di lasciare un segno nella storia mondiale del nuoto in acque libere, ritornino con propri atleti, rendendosi ambasciatori della Capri-Napoli del mondo, è un ulteriore segno di prestigio della competizione. Quest’anno nelle prove open si sfiorano le 140 presenze, in rappresentanza di tutti i continenti. E dire che per le gare del 2026, per le quali sono già aperte le pre-iscrizioni, al momento ci sono già due date sold out”.

Important numbers also for this competition: in fact, there are 35 swimmers registered (29 men and six women), representing seven nations and four continents: in addition to those from all over Italy, there will be swimmers from Argentina, Australia, India, Romania, Spain and Turkey, divided between Solo (nine in total) and relays (five teams that will compete along the 36 kilometers). Departure at 9.00 am from the Marina Grande area in Capri, arrival in the waters in front of the Circolo Canottieri Napoli. Among the curiosities of Friday's race, it is worth mentioning the presence of the Argentine Claudio Plit, winner as PRO four times in the waters of the Gulf of Naples, an athlete who until three years ago held the record for appearances (a good fifteen) at the official competition, a record then ceded to his compatriot Damian Blaum. Plit for his part, also counting the unofficial races, is the one who boasts the greatest number of appearances at the Capri-Naples: a good 22, collected in six different decades (from the 70s to the present day). The organizer Luciano Cotena is satisfied: “The open competitions – he says – are growing more and more in terms of interest and attendance. And the fact that many champions of the past, capable of leaving a mark on the world history of open water swimming, are returning with their own athletes, making themselves ambassadors of the Capri-Naples of the world, is a further sign of the prestige of the competition. This year in the open trials, there are almost 140 participants, representing all the continents. And to think that for the 2026 races, for which pre-registrations are already open, at the moment there are already two sold out dates”.
