Capri-Napoli 2025: 2nd open competition - 20th June

---ITA: ​Ancora una festa internazionale per la seconda Capri-Napoli open 2025, la prima conclusasi al Circolo Canottieri dopo l’esordio della settimana scorsa a Torre del Greco. In campo maschile a tagliare per il primo il traguardo posto nelle acque antistanti il Molosiglio, dopo una traversata di 36 chilometri iniziata da Le Ondine Beach Club di Marina Grande, è stato il romeno Paul Georgescu, che ha concluso la propria impresa in 9.04.18. Sorridente al traguardo Georgescu: “Sono contento anche se non del tutto soddisfatto dal crono finale. Pensavo e penso di valere un tempo inferiore ed ora che conosco meglio la gara sono certo che tornerò per fare meglio. Era la prima volta che mi cimentavo con la Capri-Napoli ma la mia storia con l’acqua è lunga: ho giocato a pallanuoto e tuttora sono arbitro e prima della maratona del golfo ho affrontato la Oceans Seven, sfida su sette prove natatorie in acque libere che dal 2008 ad oggi è stata compiuto solo da trenta atleti”.
All’esordio alla Capri-Napoli anche la prima donna giunta al Canottieri Napoli: si tratta dell’australiana Rachel Ward, che ha compiuto i 28 km a nuoto in 9.40.10: “Ad indirizzarmi verso questa gara – ammette sorridendo – sono stati due miei amici che l’hanno fatta negli anni passati e che mi hanno convinta, con i loro racconti, a parteciparvi. È stata un’esperienza fantastica, mare bellissimo, specie all’inizio, mentre nella parte finale era un po’ increspato”.
Sfida tutta italiana nella prova a staffette, vinta al rush finale dal sodalizio Marche Swimming Team (composto da Federico Gregorio, Alessandro Marangoni, Flavio Caliendi, Rodolfo Gaudenzi, Mirko Spanevello e Luca Di Iacovo), che ha preceduto di appena 19 secondi (6.55.28 contro 6.55.47) Mare Forza Sud: “Ci siamo dati cambi regolari – raccontano i componenti del team giunto primo – di 10’ circa, anche se chi era meno sicuro cambiava dopo 7’. Poi con l’avvicinarsi del traguardo e visto che eravamo tallonati dai componenti di Mare Forza Sud abbiamo effettuato cambi di 3-4 minuti. È stata una bella esperienza, da ripetere”.
Tra le curiosità anche la presenza di una staffetta “familiare” proveniente dall’Argentina: papà Carlos Daniel Moreno, mamma Bibiana Silvia Portuges e i figli Fidel e Mirko, arrivati terzi - poco dopo il romeno Georgescu - 9.06.06 il tempo finale. Per loro una bella esperienza finalizzata in particolare ad evidenziare l’impegno sostenuto presso l’impianto dove si allenano a Trevelin.

Also making her debut at the Capri-Napoli was the first woman to arrive at Canottieri Napoli: Australian Rachel Ward, who swam the 28 km in 9.40.10: “Two friends of mine who had done it in the past years and who convinced me, with their stories, to take part in it, directed me towards this race,” she admits, smiling. “It was a fantastic experience, the sea was beautiful, especially at the beginning, while it was a bit choppy at the end.” An all-Italian challenge in the relay race, won in the final rush by the Marche Swimming Team (composed of Federico Gregorio, Alessandro Marangoni, Flavio Caliendi, Rodolfo Gaudenzi, Mirko Spanevello and Luca Di Iacovo), who preceded Mare Forza Sud by just 19 seconds (6.55.28 against 6.55.47): “We made regular changes – say the members of the team that came first – of about 10 minutes, even if those who were less confident changed after 7 minutes. Then, as we approached the finish line and seeing that we were tailed by the members of Mare Forza Sud, we made changes of 3-4 minutes. It was a great experience, to be repeated”. Among the curiosities was also the presence of a “family” relay team from Argentina: father Carlos Daniel Moreno, mother Bibiana Silvia Portuges and their sons Fidel and Mirko, who came in third - shortly after the Romanian Georgescu - 9.06.06 the final time. For them, it was a great experience, aimed in particular at highlighting the commitment made at the facility where they train in Trevelin.
