Capri-Napoli 2025: 4th open competition - 4th July

---ITA: ​Altri trentuno nuotatori pronti ad affrontarsi sulla distanza dei 36 km: va in scena venerdì 4 luglio la quarta e ultima prova open della Capri-Napoli 2025. Ed è un’altra sfida dai grandi numeri: sono infatti trentuno gli atleti che si sfideranno, venti uomini e undici donne, suddivisi tra solo (dieci quelli in lizza), duo (uno) e staffette (quattro). Otto le nazioni rappresentate, per tre continenti: oltre all’Italia, saranno presenti nuotatori di Argentina, Australia, El Salvador, Francia, Nuova Zelanda, Spagna e Regno Unito.
Tra le curiosità, da segnalare la presenza, seppure solo in staffetta, di una grande campionessa mondiale, capace di lasciare il segno alla Capri-Napoli, con due vittorie e il record di partecipazioni in campo femminile (dodici in tutto). Si tratta di Pilar Geijo, che sarà la capitana di un suo team argentino tutto al femminile. Geijo, dopo avere conquistato tutto quanto possibile nel nuoto in acque libere, adesso gareggia nel triathlon, dove ha già ottenuto buoni risultati. Da segnalare la presenza, i qualità di coach, di un altro argentino che ha fatto la storia della maratona del golfo con le sue due vittorie (nel 2010 e nel 2015) e il primato assoluto di presenze nelle gare ufficiali: Damian Blaum, che accompagnerà il duo argentino-neozelandese nella sua traversata dal lido Le Ondine Beach Club di Marina Grande (come di consueto location di partenza della gara, grazie alla disponibilità di Gemma Rocchi) fino al traguardo posto a ridosso del Circolo Canottieri del presidente Giancarlo Bracale.
Per gli organizzatori della società Eventualmente Eventi & Comunicazione grande soddisfazione per i numeri registrati quest’anno: “Abbiamo sfiorato – afferma il responsabile Luciano Cotena – quota 140 presenze, con nuotatori provenienti da tutti i continenti. E i primi dati relativi al 2026 ci lasciamo guardare con ottimismo al futuro: sono infatti già aperte le pre-iscrizioni per le prove open del prossimo anno, per le quali abbiamo già tre sold-out. Tutto ciò è frutto di un lavoro meticoloso, che ci permette di raggiungere gli appassionati di tutto il mondo che vogliono provare l’emozione di nuotare la maratona acquatica più conosciuta ed affascinante del panorama mondiale”.

---ENG: Another thirty-one swimmers ready to compete over the 36 km distance: the fourth and final open race of the Capri-Napoli 2025 will take place on Friday 4 July. And it is another challenge with big numbers: in fact, there are thirty-one athletes who will compete, twenty men and eleven women, divided between solo (ten competing), duo (one) and relay (four). Eight nations are represented, for three continents: in addition to Italy, there will be swimmers from Argentina, Australia, El Salvador, France, New Zealand, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Among the curiosities, it is worth mentioning the presence, albeit only in the relay, of a great world champion, capable of leaving her mark on the Capri-Napoli, with two victories and the record for participation in the women's field (twelve in total). This is Pilar Geijo, who will be the captain of her all-female Argentine team. Geijo, after having conquered everything possible in open water swimming, now competes in triathlon, where she has already achieved good results. Worth noting is the presence, as coach, of another Argentine who has made the history of the Gulf Marathon with his two victories (in 2010 and 2015) and the absolute record of appearances in official races: Damian Blaum, who will accompany the Argentine-New Zealand duo in their crossing from the Le Ondine Beach Club in Marina Grande (as usual the starting location of the race, thanks to the availability of Gemma Rocchi) to the finish line located near the Circolo Canottieri of the president Giancarlo Bracale. For the organizers of the company Eventualmente Eventi & Comunicazione great satisfaction for the numbers recorded this year: "We almost reached - says the manager Luciano Cotena - 140 presences, with swimmers coming from all continents. And the first data relating to 2026 let us look to the future with optimism: in fact, pre-registrations are already open for the open trials next year, for which we already have three sold-outs. All this is the result of meticulous work, which allows us to reach enthusiasts from all over the world who want to experience the thrill of swimming the most famous and fascinating aquatic marathon on the world scene".
