---ENG: A record-breaking Australian, capable of lining up rival men and relay teams and qualifying for the absolute race on 9 September. The series of challenges in open water of the Capri-Naples Farmacosmo trophy begins with a bang, which opened yesterday, Friday 23 June, with the first of the three open tests scheduled until next 7 July, as part of the busy calendar of events promoted by the company Possibly Events & Communication by Luciano Cotena.
Josie Page, 24 years old from Australia, ennobled the race open to non-professional athletes and enthusiasts, who literally dominated the scene from the first strokes after the departure from Le Ondine Beach Club in Marina Grande, keeping a pace that was impossible to sustain not only for the male rivals but also for the members of the relay teams (who had the possibility of making regular changes), who in the end were forced to let the young swimmer go only to see her again at the Circolo Canottieri Napoli, where the Australian arrived after 7 hours 13' and 34”. Time that allows Page, as per the regulation, to snatch the pass for the absolute race in September: “I'm very happy - she said - A fantastic crossing, with ideal marine conditions and a light wave that accompanied me throughout the second part. I qualified for the absolute test, but I will decide in the coming weeks whether to compete on September 9 or wait a year". Josie Page was in Naples all week with her family, having arrived on Monday: “I visited the city, beautiful. So many extraordinary places, the seafront in particular captured me”.
Among the men first the American Max Goldstain, also under eight hours overall (7.51.36), who preceded the Brazilian Alexander Beserra Da Silva (8.14.17) and the Turkish Umit Kamal Cengiz (8.52.16). Before them the winning relay, the one made up of Giovanni Mazzucca, Ctistian Prete, Angela De Luca, Giovanni Bruno, Antonio Guastafierro and Guido Santoro, who only competed under the name of "Friends of Roberto D'Auria" and were able to close the crossing at 7.40.22.
Tuesday 27th June we will be back in the water for the second open competition: fifteen athletes (five men and ten women) will be in the water. Six for the solo event, one for the Duo and the remaining for a singles relay, made up of thirteen Australians: "They are those of a larger group of members, about fifty - underlines Luciano Cotena - who would have liked to participate in the 2020 open races , those later canceled due to the pandemic. With them they will have several fans in tow: relatives and friends who have chosen Naples for the holidays which in their continent are the winter ones ".
